Molly and I love making Orange Candles! We’re not always 100% successful at it (see video for proof), but we always have fun. And hey, sometimes it actually works! Enjoy.
Here’s what you need:
- Oranges (of course)
- Knife (a butter knife for kids)
- Olive oil (or coconut oil)
- Lighter
Step 1

Cut the orange in half horizontally.
Step 2

Use your knife to dig out the edible part of the orange, leaving just the rind with the stem in the middle.
Step 3

Eat the orange because it’s amazing and let the rind dry.
Step 4

Pour olive oil or coconut oil into the rind and let it sit for 45 minutes to an hour.
Step 5

Light the stem like a wick with your lighter.
Step 6

Invite me over for an orange candlelight dinner. Or if it’s a fail, we can just eat oranges.
