You all know how I love making wreaths. I just love how one simple decoration can add so much to a porch or room. I have always wanted to make a wire wreath and thought I would give it a try this Christmas. I love how it turned out and how easy it was. I literally assembled this in about 30 minutes and did it while watching an episode of Hollywood Medium (Hi Tyler :)). The most time consuming thing about this was hot gluing the tops of the ornaments, but I am glad that I did, because not one ornament fell off. At first when you start the wreath will look a little sad and you will think you are doing it wrong, trust me, just keep going. Once you get a lot of ornaments on, it really will start looking full and beautiful. I also put a piece of tape every so often to help support the wreath shape. If you are looking for an easy and inexpensive wreath to make this holiday season, consider this one.
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
- Lots of ornaments (different sizes)
- Wire hanger
- Bow
- tape
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Start by taking your wire hanger untwist the top so you are able to string the ornaments on.
Bend the wire into a circle.
Dab some hot glue under the ornament caps to secure them so they don’t pop off as you assemble them on the hanger.
Start stringing your ornaments onto the hangar one at a time. If you are using more than one color it is a good idea to alternate the colors as you string them on so it is well balanced.
Once you have finished stringing all your ornaments on, twist the top ot the hanger back together again. I added a bow to hide the wire. It’s now ready to hang and proudly display your holiday masterpiece.
